Bulk Recording of orders is catching Deleted SOs

Several times now I've had this issue occur:

- I've deleted and archived certain SOs in RetailPro for various reasons (e.g., canceled per customer request)
- I then filter SOs to record the sales (we have 3 SO types, which are recorded separately)
- I highlight the orders and click "Record Sale/Return" (assuming the orders I've already *deleted* won't be in the list)
- After recording, the deleted orders are in the "Sales Orders" list, not "Archived SOs", and have been recorded and assigned receipt numbers

How is this possible?!

Your thoughts on integrating RPro with ecommerce website

Old products appear on website but are not in catalog

I have several older products that have been removed from the ECI catalog but still appear on the website. The sku #'s are not even in RPro anymore because they have been deleted. Any way to get these items off the website?

ECI integration with UPS

I have 2 questions with regards to ECI and UPS

1. Is there an easy was to link peoples shipping address's from ECI to UPS so that you dont have to have the human error factor in re typing the customers address into UPS world ship

2. How do I set up ECI and UPS to send the customer an email with there order tracking number

Froogle and UniteU through ECI – RPro Field Lengths

Froogle enables Product Type to be defined when I upload my products. UniteU has mapped this to Desc4.

The problem I have is that Desc4 does not allow enough characters. I have to upload to Froogle every 2 weeks and retyping everything in Excel can take a whole day.

Froogle needs a good description or it denies my upload.

Is their any way to make this Retail Pro field longer in length?

Polling Hangs and Fails

Every time I try to do a manual polling, it hangs for quite a while during the "Exchange Data" process, and does not recover.

Generally there are 5 files being sent. The second is the G00000XXXXX(different numbers each day, sequential).zip file. As soon as this file gets to 100%, the polling process seems to fail. The transfer rate slowly but steadily begins to drop, until it reaches zero. And there it sits!

Assuming that the file was actually sent (since it got to 100%), I moved it from the Out folder to the Sent folder. Then I executed the exchange again and all the other files seemed to send and receive properly. However, when I look for changes I've made to my catalog, or orders to have been added to my active SO's in RPro, there is nothing!

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

Changing the sort order for products

We currently sort our products by in order from most recent items added to oldest items added. I'd like to change the primary sort order so that "in stock" items appear first followed by "out of stock/special order items".

As a secondary sort I'd like the items to display in order of most recent to oldest items added.

Price increases don't transfer to website

When we update inventory prices in Retail Pro (we're on Version 7), the prices generally change in ECI and therefore on the website once we poll. We are having some problems with some prices not changing. I've checked ECI and the new prices are reflected correctly in there. But for some reason, the new prices do not transfer to the website and it's affecting sales. I tried creating a new catalog and added the problem inventory items to it, polled again, and still these items are at the old prices. Any suggestions?

ECI inventory: scrolling and price update problems

I have two inventory catalogs that have the same problem. As I scroll through the inventory, it is not possible to scroll to the bottom. As you approach the bottom of the inventory list, the side bar jumps back up to the top. How do I fix this? Will I need to delete the entire catalog and start from scratch? The rest of our inventory catalogs have no problem, so I don't know what happened inside of these two.

In one of the catalogs that has the scrolling problem, it also has price update issues. Whenever we update prices in Retail Pro, it usually updates the price immediately in ECI inventory. However, in one of the problem catalogs, the prices don't update. Any suggestions?

Available Threshold Question

I am looking for more detailed information on the ECI Available Threshold. I have set my available threshold in preferences but I would like to have a different threshold on several products. My UniteU project manager thinks that I can do it by changing the Available Threshold on the catalog tab Web Info. The ECI manual that I downloaded form Rpro sight does not have ANY information on this tab that I could locate. Does anyone have more information for me?

Our store uses a Payroll Deduction payment option for employees in one of our Divisions (it is a store that sells to employees exclusively). The way we've worked out the Payroll Deduction process is as follows:

We receive the employees' orders and submit an invoice to that Division's payroll dept. on a weekly basis
Their payroll dept. cuts us a check for the total amount, then handles the process of deducting from payroll on their own
When we receive the check, we use ECI to record all the sales that use Payroll Deduction for that week
After recording sales, orders are purged and archived

Today I was recording the sales because we received a check. Several of the orders would not record (error message: "Record Failed - wrong length!") Never seen that before!

Note: we did recently have a file corruption issue. A tech from OSD had to replace our SO file, but retained all the orders that were still unpaid (payroll deduction orders not yet recorded). So here are my questions:

Is this likely caused by the SO file being corrupted and then replaced? Or, any other idea what's causing it?
Is there something we can do to get these orders to record?
Now that the SO file is free of corruption, will this issue most likely cease from occuring on future orders?

Exclude from Web

I use ECI with UniteU. The “Exclude from Web” button only works for an item within the style that is not on top of the style list. I can not exclude the first item in a style or the whole style.

Is a solution to get around this?

ECI shipping weight

In the ECI Catalog Manager is their a way to assign a shipping weight to a whole style?

I did not realize until now that I must go into each individual item within the style and assign a shipping weight. This is going to take all day to fix

Hello,

I am very excited to have found a retail pro forum. I hope to be able to contribute some of my 10 years of using retail pro and well as gain some new knowledge. My question is that we are currently using the markdown feature in retail pro. When we put this item on the web it only shows the markdown price and not the original price. So the customer does not see the original and the sale price. When we make the change in the manager, eci overwrights it. Any one have any better options for me? I would be greatly in dept to you if you did.

Who are my hosting options when it comes to Rpro & ECI

Hi, we are currently using Retail Pro for 3 brick and morter stores, our warehouse and an archaic website.

The way the website works now is the host has provided us with a small program that will query a database that i construct from rpro (manualy!) and send an xml file to their server. when an order gets placed the reverse happens where we get minimal information (customer data and product) and when we complete the sales order the item is removed from Rpro.

My problem with this whole system is i have very limited ability to quickly add or remove product from our inventory for the website without having to completely reformat this CommaSeperatedValue file which takes forever.

I was told a while ago the ECI unit works good with Rpro and at the time we looked into a company called UniteU but they seemd liek a bit more than we were willing to spend at the time, now I feel we went with too little, too bare bones.

so my question to you all is, and this might be a lot to ask:

1) How is it to work with the ECI, does it offer seemless intergration with Rpro?

2) Right now we are limited to by the description length in rpro so this is why we had to rebuild the new database, does ECI allow you to have long product desc?

3) How does it handle image formating and organizing?

4) and lastly, the biggest question is, who do you host with, one company wanted to charge us $1/transaction which we thought crazy, another had such a slow server we couldn't imagine it working.

Cut/Copy/Paste gone in ECI?

Does anyone know why the cut and paste functions would stop working in ECI? It only works if you use the ctrl+X/C/V shortcuts. Is there a way to restore this?

Default Font, Size & Color in ECI Editor

Is their any way to specify a default font, size and color in the ECI Description editor? I am getting really tired of changing the settings on every product. I cannot find any reference to this in the manual.

Partial Fulfillments in ECI

We have done some partial fulfillments in ECI but unless we eventually ship all items, a sale will not be recorded and the customer will not be charged. Does anyone know how we can record these sales even if it turns out that we cannot complete the order?

We need to be able to charge only for what we ship, when we ship it.

Short and Long Descriptions missing from ECI but still on site.

After reading the above forum topic on the UNITEU site I checked my descriptions in ECI. Sure enough, I'm missing all of my short and long descriptions. They still show up on the web site though.

2 other people have had the same problem. Anyone else having this issue? Suggestions for a fix?
