Shorter Reconstruct Time?

We are planning our next physical inventory and want to know if there is a way to make reconstruct take less time. Right now it takes about 1-1/2 hours. We start our inventory at the end of the day and this means no one can work for 1-1/2 hours after we close out. Are there files we can omit that really don't need reconstructing that badly? Is reconstruct doing something with the images in ECI? If so, can I just move the folder out of Rpro until reconstruct is done?

Any ideas?

Stock Movement

Opening stock value: 2300482.51 (30 Oct 09)

Transaction value (Nov - Cost of Sales) - 544550.37 (Only Sales - No voucher,slips,adjustments)

Net Movement (Manual Calculation)

opening stock(2300482.51)-(Cost of sales(544550.37) = 1755932

Closing stock Value as by system report - 1775715.84 (31-Nov-09)

Difference value - (-19783.70)

Closing manual net movement value does not match Closing system report stock value...This is the case of only value. But considering the qty both does match

why does the value of cost does not match while qty match

Workstation can't see reciepts

For some reason one of our workstations can not see reciepts (starting today). This is a local workstation in our office and all other stations are not having this problem. I've checked all of the settings and nothing has changed. No error messages are being given either. The reciept list is just blank.

Any ideas??

Missing Outslips

Hello Guys,

Anybody knows some reason or had experienced wherein some outslips are missing? These outslips are made in the MAIN. I ruled out the possibility of the data path having changed while doing and updating the transfer, they are neither in transverification area.

Gift Receipt Button

Now that we have upgraded to version 8.6, there is a button to create a gift receipt for only select items on the receipt but it doesn't actually print anything. Is there a way we can get this to print?

Credit Card Authorization Field

The credit card authorization field is grayed out. Is there a way we can access that to enter an authorization number? Is there a reason we're not supposed to use it?

Hi, I'm not all that familiar with retail pro but I'm learning some to help out my boss, a buyer for a chain of stores - currently I'm working on entering a code for markdowns, date to start, etc.- I filter what I want and then I have to enter this info one by one on each style listed and there are many - is there away to apply this same info (4 different cells across in list view) to all the styles I have filtered instead of having to key it in seperately on each style? I wish I could copy and paste it all like in excel - help please or this will take me forever to do.

I recently had a server crash on me and had to install RPRO to a new computer, I have access to my old files from my old Hard Drive, Is there any way I can copy my customize reports from old hardrive to new??

V8 Main Employee Login not exported to V9 Main thru ECM

Dear All,

Im not able export the Login field of the employees from v8. Only the Nickname, FullName and the Description fields in v8 is being exported to v9 Main.

My ECM Profile Tool in v8 is set to Manage Employee Security, in V9 it is not.

How to Change Store Number on SO's

We need to ring a deposit on a sales order to a store other than default much like we can do on a receipt. Anyone know how to change the store number? Are we supposed to be changing it on the deposit?

HP rp5700 POS System compatibility

Hi,

Anybody worked with HP POS system before??

We are using HP POS System first time in Singapore and getting difficulty in configuring POLE Display.

Also, for Printer we are not able to print using OPOS but we are able to open cash drawer using OPOS.

If somebody had worked before with HP POS, please let me know how to proceed. We are using rp5700 POS.

Automatic Discounts, Promotional Pricing Help

Hi there everybody. I am trying to figure out how to setup discounts and promotional pricing. For example, we have gloves with different size styles.... small, medium, large, extra large. The price for example is 10.00, but i want to make it buy 3 or more and get them for 7.00.

So when the cashier scans the item, the discounts automatically go in without having to manual enter. Also, we sell an item for $500, but in the fall we want to discount to 449.99.

If someone could point me in the right direction that would be most helpful.

Cost and Price changed automatically

Anyone can help me? We are using V.9.14.556.93. We set "leave" in reference for all stores, we want to control cost and price from headquarter but after some days we changed price from headquarter, price changed by it self automatically

Range Check error

Recently I've been recieving range check errors everytime someone else logs on to Rpro, in order bypass this I reboot, this helps for a few minutes but it still comes back to the point its not useable. Only way I can manage is to not have people log out which makes things very difficult to track. I've tried several things this only happens on my workstations 2 and 3, I've regenerated IX files, re-installing, and I still get this. Is something in my database corrupt? Have anyone else had this type of trouble??

I have encountered a problem while doing Process In. After polling I did "process in" and started processing in but halfway through its not responding.

I did a full construct then and got a message " problem encountered, files with fatal errors:1".

Dear Guys!!

I had encountered this installation problem on windows 2008 server. Was there any OS restriction on RPRO V8.5 installation? RPRODB was coming back again and again. I taught it was a dongle issue at first, but drivers for dongle was now installed supported by 2008 server.

Hi! I wanted to post this to find out if anybody has run into hardware, (printers, scanners, pinpads, PC bundles, ect) that you have working currently with Retail Pro, or would like to see working with Retail Pro in the future. If you have anything please leave exact manufacturer info and model info, and why you would want it to interface with Retail Pro. An example could be a tag printer that prints extremely fast that is cost effective that you have seen.

I've spent a career working with both manufacturer-supplied art and custom product photography on the agency side and have learned very little about the performance/value of either.

I've put together (and am sharing the results of) a brief survey (3-4 minutes tops) to understand how retailers view their current options for product images.

I'm hoping we can all gain insight into the value of custom product photography and its affect on conversion rates as well as the use of manufacturer-supplied art and how it impacts the retailer's brand, sales, etc.

From regular desktop to a server

I have a regular desktop computer and we used as a Main computer and now we are changing the Main computer server to a Dell PowerEdge 840 server 2003 software. Do i have to change also the directory from the remote to a c:\client\Apps\Retail or I will just leave them as c:\Apps\Retail. Does it conflict with the polling from Remote to the Main.

Reporting Fraud

We have one "customer" who is very persistent in trying to buy jewelry with various avs-failing credit cards and different combinations of the same first, last and middle name.

Who does everyone contact when you see some kind of fraud? We called the credit card company but they don't seem to care, they just verify that the address is not valid.

I'm getting tired of this person and I want to bust them and then watch them get hauled away on Cops.

We have two vendors who have merged themselves into one company and I was wondering if anyone had experienced this before and what they did.

We have considered either choosing one vendor and changing all the vendor codes in inventory to its number or creating a third new vendor in the system and changing all numbers from both former stores to the new number.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Export/Import Adresses

Missing Customer History

We have a situation where customer sales history for some customers does not go back to the beginning of their activity. Receipts from 2006 may show, but not 2004. Does anyone know what causes this or if it can be fixed? Is this a known issue?

summary report of inventory

We are 8 year users of RPro. Our preferred report when attending purchasing trade shows is a summary report sorted in order: DSC, Vendor, Style, Attribute, Size, Cost, Price, QTY on hand, QTY recd, QTY sold, Last date recd, last date sold, and Item number. Our rec'd and sold number are created by running SRO totals. This report is an excellent report with each item only taking one line on the report and in landscape mode allowing us to have several items per page. We presently have 40,000 SKU's in our inventory. Question: Is is possible for this report (continuing with only one line per item) to include 12 additional month columns showing the quantity of the item sold during each month? When attending these buying markets we like to run SRO totals back 12 months. However, only showing a "total sold" and "total recd" does not allow us to determine which months these items sold in, making pre-booking shipments harder to determine. If I have a report showing monthly sales, I would not need the two columns "last date recd" and "last date sold".

I am currently testing a palm 1500 to scan in items to my vouchers the problem is because of our product mix the vendors always substitute the items or send the incorrect product. Now if the item already exist on my database it is going to show up as received inventory is there a solution to only scan the items that I order and receive them only I do not want to be stuck with items I did not purchase .I am getting quotes in the thousand of dollars which is way beyond my budget with this tight economy down turn there must be another solution that already exist for my store
