Another note. Try not to copy the .txt file to all of the stores. Each file will have to be created independently at each store due to store numbers in some of the files.

You could fine this line command parameters on the documents. It could help you.

Running Full Reconstruct.

/T - Test data only.

/R - Re-index only.

/F - Full reconstruct. (Default)

/0 - no indexes processed in memory.

/1 - one index processed in memory at a time.

/A - all indexes concurrently processed in memory.

/M - Runs minimized and automatically terminates when finished.

/D - Detail mode, displays the processing details on the screen.

/C - Close when done.

/H - Allow headers recovery.

Add the parameter /list:reconlst.txt (or filename in step 4)/f /a /c /m /h to your reconstruct task in scheduler.

What do the variables in cmd line mean?
/f
/a
/c
/m
/h

How often do you have scheduler run the automated reconstruct?

Have you ever run into any problems with it being automated?

Will it run, if someone forgets to close down RPro?

This tweak should almost reduce the reconstruct time in half or more depending on how far back you have history.

Open Recontruct.
Select all files.
Click the save icon.
Save the filelist as reconlst.txt or any name you want. I usually change the name.
Edit the reconlst.txt (or filename in step 4) file and delete all MEYYYYMM.dat, SAYYYYMM.dat, RCYYYYMM.dat and TRYYYYMM.dat files
Add ME2008*.dat, ME2009*.dat, SA2008*.dat, SA2009*.dat, RC2008*.dat, RC2009*.dat and TR2008*.dat, TR2009*.dat to the file. (I only use the last 2 years since the other years haven't been touched in awhile.
Save the reconlst.txt (or filename in step 4).
Add the parameter /list:reconlst.txt (or filename in step 4) /f /a /c /m /h to your reconstruct task in scheduler.

Hi Mark, Reconstruct only touches defined data files not images, you shouldn't have to do anything with them.

To speed up Reconstruct, you can reconstruct only the areas needed. For a PI you should reconstruct your inventory files, PI files and PO,SO,TO files, trani.dat, and current month history. SA, ME, RC, TR 200905.dat files. (these can all be selected manually in reconstruct.)

What you are probably running into is the time it takes to reconstruct ALL your history, and not your active files.

You can also get a reconstruct list built as well, that would tell it this data. Contact scheduling for this.

Shorter Reconstruct Time?

We are planning our next physical inventory and want to know if there is a way to make reconstruct take less time. Right now it takes about 1-1/2 hours. We start our inventory at the end of the day and this means no one can work for 1-1/2 hours after we close out. Are there files we can omit that really don't need reconstructing that badly? Is reconstruct doing something with the images in ECI? If so, can I just move the folder out of Rpro until reconstruct is done?

Any ideas?
