You may have problems with polling and operation, but with the 32bit version you may be able to get working, depending on your windows knowledge, and setting up the security and compatibility. If its is 64bit I wouldn't recommend it at all as Retail Pro has said it will not work.

To be safe you may want to go with 2003, as it is supported by Retail Pro.

This OS windows server 2008 was not certified by RetailPro. Was there any issue later if I will proceed with this OS?

Retail pro uses other exe files than just Rpro8. The 2 options for DEP are windows essential programs and services, or all programs and services. There is no full disable.

Sir, but if i will not allow DEP to be turn-on for RPRO.exe it will not proceed to reconstuct the data files. Was there any option i could do for these.

DEP should be set to windows only. It will interfere with Retail Pro operation.

Actually it was not allowing the RPRO system to reconstruct the data files. DEP allows it when you turn on RPRO8.exe to run. But how sure are we that the Windows system will be protected? It must be! If I return it back temporaryly, how will RPRO reconstuct its file on a later part?

Make sure DEP is turned on for windows applications only.

You may also have to Allow Rpro to run. It sounds like a security option is preventing the creation of the files.

Dear Guys!!

I had encountered this installation problem on windows 2008 server. Was there any OS restriction on RPRO V8.5 installation? RPRODB was coming back again and again. I taught it was a dongle issue at first, but drivers for dongle was now installed supported by 2008 server.
