hi,,

when installing retailpro9
in the first stages of zipping applications

I had a database error

"Cannot connect to database. please contact your...... etc"

then the installation is terminated.

!!!!!

while installing new virgin ( retaile Pro9 -9.20.5 build in oracle 11 )

1st – if I open merchandise or sales this massage appear to me { could not convert variant of type ( NULL) into type ( Boolean) }

2nd - and I tried to recover the old database again using standard way I got this error { failed to perform media recovery }

3rd - finally I got this error after recovering the old database (the license server is down )

This could be several different problems. You should contact your dealer on this.

Volda, 1st thing, is you need to get the license service running. Service control manager, and update or activate. Without it running, Oracle will not run.

Your recovery failed, so i have no idea what state your Database is in..

If it is an empty DB, I would probably just uninstall and reinstall everything.
